Tom and Jerry: Chase is a competitive mobile game where you either outrun the cat or trap the mouse, recreating the slapstick chaos of the classic cartoon. Matches are capped at eight minutes, which means every second counts—no drawn-out rounds here. What sets it apart from other asymmetric multiplayer games? No pay-to-win stats; victory comes down to reaction time and map knowledge, not how much you spent. I’ve played dozens of rounds and still find the chase mechanics surprisingly tight for a mobile title.
The biggest draw is that Tom and Jerry: Chase doesn’t sell equipment that boosts your stats. Every character, whether Tom or Jerry, starts with a fixed moveset. You can unlock new ones, but they’re sidegrades, not upgrades. This means a beginner with a default skin can beat a veteran if they outthink them—I’ve done it myself. The voice chat feature helps teammates coordinate ambushes, but it’s also the source of my first real complaint: in public lobbies, the chat is often cluttered or silent, so solo players rely on ping signals instead. For a game that prides itself on competitive balance, that friction can feel a bit outdated.
Not everything is polished. The visual style is faithful to the cartoons—bright colors, exaggerated animations—but on lower-end devices, frame rates stutter during chaotic chases with three mice and traps everywhere. I’ve also run into character balance quirks: some Jerrys have a get-out-of-jail-free ability that makes chasing them feel unfair when the map is small. The rotating special game modes are fun (like the chessboard-style maze), but they only appear on specific days, so you might wait a week to play your favorite. These limitations don’t ruin the experience, but they keep the game from being perfect for every session.
If you’re looking for a quick, skill-driven mobile brawler that respects your time, Tom and Jerry: Chase delivers. Just go in knowing that map knowledge is everything—and maybe warn your friends before you invite them into voice chat. The gameplay loops are addictive, but the occasional performance dip and unbalanced character will remind you it’s still a free-to-play title with room to grow.
