What Makes Nobodies Different

I’ll be honest—when I first downloaded Nobodies, I expected a shock-horror experience. Instead, what I got was a slow-burn puzzle game that asks you to think like a government cleaner. You play as Asset 1080, and your job is to dispose of bodies from crime scenes without leaving a trace. The core loop is methodical: examine a corpse, scan the environment, and use tools to eliminate evidence. No jump scares, no running zombies—just you, a dead body, and the quiet pressure of not being caught.

The Real Challenge: Attention to Detail

What sets Nobodies apart from other puzzle adventures is how it punishes carelessness. One stray hair, a misidentified object, or a wrong disposal method can trigger mission failure. I’ve lost count of how many times I had to restart because I forgot to wipe a doorknob or left a fingerprint on a plastic bag. The game forces you to treat each scene like a real investigation—checking medical reports, matching tools to the victim’s cause of death, and even accounting for environmental factors like weather or time of day. This isn’t a fast-paced thriller; it’s a meticulous logic exercise that rewards patience.

Honest Limitations and How to Approach Them

That said, Nobodies has its rough edges. The puzzle solutions can feel arbitrary—sometimes the game expects you to combine items in ways that aren’t obvious, and the lack of a hint system means you might spend 20 minutes trying nonsensical combinations. Also, the repetitive structure (examine, plan, dispose) wears thin after five or six missions; you’ll wish for more environmental variety or narrative twists. And if you’re squeamish about blood or dead bodies, this game will push your comfort zone—though the visuals are more stylized than realistic. For me, the downside is the inconsistent difficulty spike in later levels, where a single misstep forces a full mission restart. Still, if you enjoy slow, cerebral puzzles and don’t mind restarting a few times, it’s a genuinely unique experience.
