Shooting World Review: Simple Arcade Fun
In 2024, I did not expect to enjoy a plain shooting gallery. Shooting World removes the complexity of battle royale games and focuses on one basic loop: aim and shoot. You hit bottles, bullseyes, and rotating targets. It is very simple, but that simplicity is exactly what makes it work. It is a low-stakes way to pass time during a commute.The Guns Feel Fine, But Realism Is Not the Point
Shooting World offers more than twenty weapons, including a crossbow and several classic snipers. The feedback is mostly visual and audio-based. Recoil is very light. Every gun handles in a similar way, so the arsenal looks bigger on paper than it feels in practice. I ended up using one sniper for most levels because the differences are mostly cosmetic, not performance-based. The official version has a restrictive live system. If you fail a level, you lose a life and must wait for it to refill. That becomes frustrating when you are in a good rhythm. Graphically, Shooting World looks flat. Textures lack detail, and animations are stiff. On the positive side, it runs perfectly on low-end hardware. Load times are almost instant, and battery drain is minimal.The real problem is repetition. There is only one campaign mode, and the target types are too similar. Most players will lose interest after a few sessions. It is a weekend game, not a game you keep playing forever. If you need varied gameplay, it will feel old quickly.
